The Lord's Prayer: Kingdom Come

'Your kingdom come'. The word 'Kingdom' in Merriam-Webster's dictionary is defined as ' a realm or region in which something is dominant'. In the Kingdom of God, God's Kingship rules. Its the redemptive kingship of God that will be on earth soon. Jesus spoke of it in His prayer. It is a kingdom where
the righteousness of God reigns, where God's justice prevails. Not this world, where Satan is boss. No, this world system doesn't define justice, true fairness in all things. In the book of revelations, is given about the Kingdom of God, that it is yet to come in its fulfillment. The Lord will judge those who have not headed to His Word and rebelled against Him. Those that have been saved and repented of their sins will be with Him in Heaven. And His reign will be forever, everlasting. And when you say, "Your kingdom come", then you proclaim His righteous rule, to be subjected to Him and usher its coming.

2 As it is written in the Prophets:

“ Behold, I send My messenger before Your face,
Who will prepare Your way before You.”
3 “ The voice of one crying in the wilderness:

      ‘ Prepare the way of the LORD;
      Make His paths straight.’"

                               - Mark 1:2-4 (NKJV)

Of the Kingdom of God, Jesus said this -

This led Him to say, What is the kingdom of God like? And to what shall I compare it?
It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his own garden; and it grew and became a tree, and the wild birds found shelter and roosted and nested in its branches.
And again He said, To what shall I liken the kingdom of God?
It is like leaven which a woman took and hid in three measures of wheat flour or meal until it was all leavened(fermented),
                                   - Luke 13: 18-21(Amplified Bible)

I once had a vision about mustard seeds. I was praying and suddenly (as my eyes were closed), in the widescreen of the my mind, I saw two big glowing hands-full, holding mustard seeds in the palms. Those hands looked like nothing I had ever seen in the natural. It was God's way of telling me the parable of the mustard seed. Observe a mustard seed - how small it, even puny. It has no worth if we don't look at its potential - the potential to grow into a huge tree with branches shooting out of the trunk of the tree.
Each seed is about 1-2 mm in diameter and when sown, it grows to a full potential of 10-15 feet in height. In the natural, it is astonishing to imagine that something so small (denoting its worth) can grow to something so huge and even shelter those birds! Only God is capable of such miracles, His glory manifests in making something great out of something that is practically insignificant, sheltering all those who are lost and been off-course.
Any housewife knows the purpose and the strength of leaven. Leaven (we use baking soda, baking powder, yeast nowadays) is used only by the spoonfuls to rise wheat, to bake it later. Here, Jesus says that the Kingdom of God is like Leaven - small, yet powerful, penetrates into the 3 measures of wheat flour (the elect, chosen ones of God) will completely change its nature as whole as the redemptive power of God changes us wholly to bring us unto Him. The Kingdom of God has small beginnings, like the leaven, like the mustard seed but it bears great fruit. Its the spring of life.

Where is the Kingdom of God???
Of the mustard seed, Jesus has also said that if we have faith as much as the size of a mustard seed, we can move mountains! The Kingdom of God is a kingdom of faith. It takes residence in us - in our very hearts.

Nor will people say, Look! Here [it is]! or, See, [it is] there! For behold, the kingdom of God is within you [in your hearts] and among you [surrounding you].
                                         - Luke 17:21 (Amplified Bible)

The Kingdom of God is within us. When we accept Jesus as our Saviour and Lord, when we daily spend time in the Word & with God, God takes His rightful kingship in our lives. We are subjected to Him. It is not by signs and wonders, but by God's holy grace and sacrifice and acceptance of it, the Kingdom of God is established in us and among us.

Friend, usher in the Kingdom of God, within you. When you do that, then God will start with something small within you but it will bring upon a grand and glorious result both in your life and all that surrounds you. Amen.
