The Lord's Prayer 2: Letting go

And He said to them, When you pray, say: Our Father Who is in heaven, hallowed be Your name, Your kingdom come, Your will be done [held holy and revered] on earth as it is in heaven.
                              - Luke 11:2(Amplified Bibile)

When  you are trusting God, you will be confident in  Him to say "Let Your will be done". That verse may be one of many verses that might find struggle in us as we are programmed since birth to rely on people. Not God. And when we grow as adults,
we trust more and more on ourselves. Trusting in God completely and letting Him take the driver's seat might have been one of the hardest things in my life to do..I still have problems with it every now and then. Being a Melancholy - Choleric in personality, I know that I have a tendency to take the reigns and not let God nor anyone take the front seat. But this kind of behavior didn't let me enjoy a good spiritual life.  It was only after spending time in prayer and the word, has God helped me to follow and trust in His leadership and Lordship. Everyone of us has to learn to let Him be God in our lives. Friend, do you know that God has a plan for you? He has created it even before you were born. I am not talking about eternal life. I am talking about your life on earth. Right here, right now. And the plan that God has for us is better than what we could ever wish for. His plan for us is purposed to give us joy, fulfillment and where our peace settles on. Imagine a kid walking with his dad on the footpath of a straight road. He is clutching his dad's hand and following his dad's lead. But when a zebra crossing comes by, the father asks his son to believe in him to cross with him to the other side of the road. The kid insists on walking on the side of the road he is familiar with, but the father knows best. He knows whats on the other side. The kid trusts his father because he knows his dad will take care of him, and  thus he puts his hand in his dad's hand and crosses the road. I am not saying that it is wrong for us have wants and desires and dreams. But it is better to let God know about them, (because He wants to know  from us), God-willing it will come to pass. Remember Jesus  in Gethesmane where He asked the holy Father, "My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may Your will be done."(Mathew 26:42). Because of Jesus' heading to the Lord's purpose for His life, we have found salvation and Jesus is seated at the right hand side of God.  God has never wished ill for us but instead always wanted to provide for us. (Luke 11:11-13). Trust God with His plan for us, and confidently say ' May Your will be done'.

Also remember, that our wonderful Lord is a Gentleman, He knocks on your door, but He will come in only once you invite Him.

Tomorrow we shall continue with the next topic - kingdom come. Have a great day. God bless you.
